Introduction:

Andrew Luck is one of the very well known American football athletes, who is known for his aggressive playing skills. For all seven years of his professional career in the American football, he has been the part of Indianapolis Colts, in the national football league.

Born in Washington DC, Luck has switched many places during his upbringing period. He spent most of his early childhood days in London and Germany. In Germany, he stayed in Frankfurt and used to study in Frankfurt International School. Since he grew up in London, the influence of soccer has been strong on him, and as a result, he is a big soccer fan. His father was the founding president and also the general manager of the Houston Dynamo football club. The same club was Luck's favorite football club.

Luck has significantly been involved in American football from the very childhood. Although a kickstart to his career initially began in his college, where he used to play along with many teams at various levels, before becoming a professional American football player.

He has been on new due to his unexpected retirement which he took, leaving away the 58 million USD. The fans and media are still confused, and there's no specific news about why he retired so unexpectedly, but people are coming up with their own stories about his retirements, none of which have been yet confirmed.

Early Life:

Andrew was born in Washington, D.C. and his parents were Oliver Luck, and Kathy Luck, who is also known as née Wilson. His dad is the current commissioner of the XFL, the year 2020. He is also the former executive vice president at the NCAA who looks after the regulatory affairs. Not just this, his father has been an active member in many official roles that includes former quarterback and also the athletic director at West Virginia University and a former NFL quarterback for the Houston Oilers.

Earlier, his father was general manager of the two League of American Football teams after which he was promoted to the president of the league. This reason was the primary reason that made Andrew spend his childhood in London and Frankfurt, Germany. During his time in Frankfurt, he used to attend Frankfurt International School. Andrew Luck is the oldest of all the four children that included two of the sisters and two of the brothers, including Andrew. Mary Ellen, who is one of Andrew's sisters, is a Stanford graduate who also used to play volleyball there. Emily, the younger sister, is currently studying in Stanford, and Addison used to live in Morgantown, West Virginia before their father's job made him move to the Indianapolis area. While his time in London, Andrew used to go to The American School in London. Soccer had a powerful influence on Andrew during his time in London. The supporters of London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham used to reach him, believing and assuming he could also be a fan of any of these clubs. On this, Luck clarified saying that he is always in support and tries to support as many American fellows in the Premier League as possible. Still, for him, the number one will always be Houston Dynamo since it was the club founded by his father.

After his father, Oliver Luck was titled as the CEO of the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority, Andrew Lucks returned to Texas city. Being especially connected with Stanford, Luck went to Stanford High School in Houston. This move was the commencement of Luck's football career, where he threw for about almost 7,139 yards and also performed 53 touchdowns in his high school sports career. After this, he also rushed for another 2,085 yards. Luck was also selected as the speaker of his graduating class in the year 2008, to represent the ideas and views on behalf of his class. Luck got enlisted as the number 4 pro-style quarterback in the class of the year 2008, as he was marked as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com. He also played and joined in the year 2008 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Despite getting so many high rated offers from numerous other schools that include Northwester, Purdue, Rice, Virginia and Oklahoma State, he chose Stanford, once after Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh recruited him.

Luck's Legacy and Evolution of Stanford Team:

Before Andrew's presence, Stanford never won more than ten games in a season. It was right after his arrival that made Stanford win 12 games for the first time, in the year 2010 in a single season. Moreover, the best two-year win for Stanford was just eighteen wins which happened in the year 1991-92. After Luck's arrival, their team won twenty-two games in two years, from the year 2010 to the year 2011. With Luck's presence in the team, Stanford stood and held the grand totals for three weeks in the AP top tens. This had happened after the year 1971, where it spent 24 weeks in the year 2010 and 2011. Also, Stanford received its first BCS bowl berth in the year 2010 and then the next one in the year 2011.

  • Most number of passing yards by a rookie in a single season: 4374.
