Zhao Liying is a popular Chinese actress who is well known by the name Zanilla Zhao as well. She currently resides in the city of Shanghai and completed her studies from Langfang School of Electronic Information Engineering. She commenced her career in the year 2006. Apart from her acting accolades and achievements, she was also titled as "Tourism Ambassador of Hebei." The year brought more to Zhao when she also became the Vice President of Yi Xia Technology.

Later in the year 2017, Zhao exposed her wax figure Madame Tussauds in the city of Beijing in the month of May 2017. Moreover, in the same year, she was appointed as a brand ambassador for Dior in China. Dior is a French luxury assets company handled and chaired by French business man Bernard Arnault, who also leads LVMH, the world's largest luxury group. In early March of the year 2019, she also announced and informed about her partnership with Hesong Media.

Early Life:

Zhao Liying was born on the day of 16 October 1987 in the city of Langfang, Hebei. She completed her education from Langfang School of Electronic Information Engineering, which is a secondary expert training school.

Zhao Liying was born in a rural place. But it was the experience of rural life that strengthened her will and gave her a strong and determined personality. It was all about these experiences that have created her to who she is today. She believes it is her strong heart, the firm pursuit of dreams, the determination and steadfastness for the profession which one is engaged in, as well as the tranquillity and confidence when handling the vanity that makes one a hero.


In the year 2006, Zhao Liying became the part of the Yahoo Search Star Game and emerged as the final winner. She then signed and worked with Huayi Brothers as a new and emerging talent. In the year 2007, Zhao began her acting debut in the family drama TV series "Golden Marriage."

In the year 2009, Zhao Liying commenced her first and opening historical drama role in The Firmament of The Pleiades. The series was declared on Japanese channel NHK and earned lots of critical acclaims. Zhao Liying won the Most Popular Actress award during the Chinese Creative Short Video Awards.

Zhao Liying first started to gain appreciation from mainland audiences after featuring in "The Dream of Red Mansions," that was released in the year 2010. It was totally inspired by the novel of the identical name, that was written by Cao Xueqin. Further, she also gained more popularity with the show "New My Fair Princess," that was released in the year 2011, where she plays the role of Princess Qing'er.

In the year 2013, Zhao Liying featured in historical drama Legend of Lu Zhen, playing a mediocre girl who worked her way up to fit up to the title of the first female prime minister. The drama became a hit domestically, and also overseas in countries like South Korea and Japan, that led to enhanced recognition for Zhao Liying in the entire region. Zhao Liying acquired numerous newcomer and fame awards at different local award ceremonies. The same year, Zhao featured in a historical romance film "Palace: Lock Sinensis," this film was also the fourth and final installment of the Gong series that was created by Yu Zheng. Opposite to her usual sweet and gentle image, Zhao plays a cunning and wicked princess in the film.

In the year 2014, Zhao Liying featured in the romantic comedy drama "Boss Me," that was based on Gu Man's famous novel "Shan Shan Comes to Eat." The series covered ratings in its timeslot in China, and also gained high popularity through the overseas. Zhao Liying further crystallized her reputation with numerous high rated dramas in the year 2014, that included "The Legend of Chasing Fish" and "Wife's Secret." Zhao Liying's towering reputation thanks to her multiple successful acting projects which ultimately led her being crowned the "Golden Eagle Goddess" during the 10th China Golden Eagle TV Art Festival, where she finished as the opening act to the ceremony.

In the year 2015, Zhao featured in Xianxia romance drama "The Journey of Flower." The show was a massive success in China, reaching a peak rating of 3.89 and becoming the first Chinese drama to clear 20 billion online views. The achievement of the show brought Zhao Liying's career to a more elevated height. Zhao Liying also won numerous accolades for her role in "The Journey of Flower.' This award also included "the Best Actress Award" at the 28th China TV Golden Eagle Award. Zhao Lying was also selected at the Magnolia Award for the "Best Actress" in a TV Series. In the corresponding year, she featured in modern workplace drama that is "Best Get Going," and also in the Wuxia drama "Legend of Zu Mountain."
